Jenny MacDonald is a Cape Breton–based storyteller, creative facilitator, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, community, womanhood, and emotional inheritance through spoken word and collaborative art practices. Created in collaboration with filmmaker Jourdan of Margaret Jordan Studios, the work blends intimate storytelling with cinematic visuals rooted in Atlantic Canadian culture and lived experience.

“I Come From an Island” is a spoken word and visual storytelling piece exploring womanhood, memory, inheritance, and identity through the lens of Atlantic Canadian experience. Combining intimate narration with collaborative film work, the project reflects on the stories women carry through place, family, survival, and belonging.
