What is Lumière?
Lumière (lum•i•ère) is an art-at-night festival that takes place in Sydney, NS. Each year, Lumière takes over the Sydney Waterfront District to present fresh, exciting contemporary art projects to the public. Working with artists from Cape Breton and beyond, the festival presents innovative projects in a unique format that transforms everyday spaces into extraordinary venues for the arts.
When is Lumière?
Lumière 2016 will take place over three days on September 28, 29, & 30, 2017. Workshops and community events will take place on September 28th and 29th. The art-at-night event will take place on September 30th, 2017 from sunset – midnight.
Why should I get involved?
Thanks to partnerships with business, over 9,000 visited Sydney Waterfront District for Lumière 2016. Lumière was awarded People’s Choice Favourite Outdoor Experience (2013) and the People’s Choice Favourite Arts & Culture Experience in CBRM (2015) by the Sydney Area Chamber of Commerce.

How can I get involved?
