Cumulo II
Saturday Sept. 23, 7PM-Midnight
NSCSI, Charlotte St. lawn, 37 Nepean St.

Cumulo, simply means heap, or pile in Latin. The work was originally created to emulate large banks of snow that altered the brutalist architecture of the Confederation Centre of the Art in Charlottetown PE during the record breaking storms of 2015. The audio element was created by artist Simon White and includes the sounds of someone walking through the snow from that winter.

Lumière welcomes Kelly Casely as part of an artist swap program with Art in the Open, Charlottetown.
I use everyday objects in unexpected ways. Using something as recognizable and approachable as balloons to alter the landscape and change the experience of the space. I don't tell stories but rather start stories by altering familiar landscapes. I aim to create a feeling of 'newness', something not experienced before.
