Consider the relationship between Newfoundland and Cape Breton, populated by people who make do with what they have, further connected by the ferry service that operates between the two islands. MOORING is an interactive project that uses a machine to construct mooring lines out of repurposed textiles; traditionally used to secure and prevent movement of ships at dock.
Diana Chisholm and David Dyck are multi-disciplinary artists based in Corner Brook, NL. Focusing on aspects of sculpture, industry and humour, the duo create works that focus on handed-down skills and knowledge, performative objects and material notions of making do with what you have.
